Speaking about the path, Nika Rosa Danilova said in a press release: “It’s true. Everyone I know is lost. Lost hope, lost future, lost present, lost planet. There is a collective disappointment with our scorching potential. As we turn away from nature, we turn away from ourselves. ‘Lost’ is a sigil to rediscover our coordinates and claim a new path.”

She added about the video: “I wanted to shoot the video in a place that carried a lot of energy, with someone who I felt understood the spiritual backbone of the song. It was a surprisingly natural process to create this video with Mu Tunc in Turkey. I believe in him and in Cappadocia, a labyrinth city built inside 60 million year old caves. Throughout human history, these caves have served as a fortress for many different groups of people who have gone there to get lost. It is a testament to the resilience of humanity and the continuity of our land.”

Tunç commented: “The story of ‘Lost’ is a visual series of devotion. It reflects the exit of the true self through the mystical environments of Cappadocia. Zola Jesus to me is like a philosopher outcast from today’s turbulent society.”

On ArkohnDanilova collaborated with producer Randall Dunn and percussionist Matt Chamberlain. “When I look at my work, I see that there is a theme where I focus on my fear of the unknown,” she said. “This really paid off for this record, because I had to let go of a lot of control. I had to give in to whatever outcome it was going to be. It was very difficult for me, and now I have no other choice.”

Danilova explained that the album’s title means “power” or “ruler” in ancient Greek, and is also closely related to Gnosticism. They pollute and taint humanity, keeping them corrupt rather than letting them find their harmonious selves. I feel like we live in an archaic time; These negative influences weigh on all of us. We are in the time of the Archons. There is strength in naming it.”
