The United States eliminates Covid testing requirements for international travelers

The Biden administration is lifting Covid-19 testing requirements for inbound air travelers from overseas, the White House said Friday.

Airlines and other members of the travel industry have done this repeatedly pushed the administration abandoned the requirement for months, arguing that it was hurting demand for international travel.

The rule, enacted by the Trump administration in early 2021 and subsequently tightened up by the Biden administration, required inbound travelers, including U.S. citizens, to show proof of a negative Covid test before boarding flights to the United States.

Travelers entering the United States by land were exempt.
