Wipro announces a 5-year digital agreement with Swedish carmaker Scania

Bangalore: Wipro Thursday announced a five-year deal to transform the Sweden-based truck manufacturer Scania’s digital workplace services and support in its path towards sustainability transport solutions.

Wipro will provide support with automation and real-time analytics to create a future-ready work environment for all Scania employees, according to an exchange filing. This journey will be powered by using Wipro Live workspace solution for managed services. The carmaker currently has 54,000 employees in more than 100 countries.

The deal was mentioned in Wipro’s press release which was attached along with the financial results for the year ended March 31, 2022 without naming the client or detailing the mandate and size of the deal, the filing said.

“As the partnership is built on a common foundation on how both companies emphasize sustainability and ethics, it is with great pleasure that we help position Scania as the leading accelerator of Sustainable Development of transportation solutions, ”said Vinay Firake, senior vice president and chief executive officer (Nordics) at Wipro.
