Tiger Woods Fighting in the PGA Championship

Tiger Woods fought for a nine over par 79 today, which included a stretch of 5 consecutive bandits in a row. Tiger has never had 5 bogeys in a row in a major in his professional career.

Tiger’s round included 7 bogeys and 1 double bogey. The only bright spot was the little bird on 15 which saved him from shooting at 80. Tiger clearly didn’t look healthy. His downhill gait seemed painful. He struggled to get in and out of the traps.

His stats for the day were the worst of the three days of the PGA championship. He only reached 6 greens in the rules and his driving accuracy was 42.86%. The average driving length of him was 286 yards.

After the round, Tiger did not speak to the media and went straight for a treatment on his leg. On the CBS broadcast, Amanda Renner reported that she had spoken to Tiger off-screen and that he has not committed to returning tomorrow. She reported that he was extremely in pain and needed to get in with his team and see how things go.

Tiger is currently +12, tied with three others at the bottom of the rankings.
