Arson Wildfire Grows in Northwest Spain

A wildfire in Verin, Spain, that authorities said was intentionally set continued to grow on Thursday, August 4, a local fire brigade said. As of early Thursday morning, the fire grew to 600 hectares (about 2.3 square miles) from 100 hectares the day before, according to officials. The regional government of Galicia reported that the fire started simultaneously at three different sites, pointing to “clear intentionality” to cause damage to people and property.
