NSW Liberals will not be ‘more electable’ with Matt Kean as deputy premier

Sky News host Peta Credlin says New South Wales Liberal Treasurer Matt Kean is due to be elected deputy leader – and there is “no doubt” who is calling the shots, even if Dominic Perrottet is premier.

“It’s the energy minister-cum-treasurer who earlier committed New South Wales to a 50 per cent emission cut by 2030 – which is greater than even federal Labor,” she said.

Ms Credlin said Mr Kean “spends most of his time” attacking other Liberals in the media and even went as far as “posting against his own premier” earlier in the week.

“More Kean is hardly going to make the Liberals more electable in March because if they want the left, they’ll just vote for the real thing,” she said.

“Is it any wonder people sometimes despair of a Liberal Party that’s become Labor-lite, and heading towards, unelectable.”
