Putin’s ‘immoral threats’ of nuclear weapons are ‘reckless’ and ‘destabilising’

Shadow Foreign Minister Simon Birmingham says Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “immoral threats” in relation to nuclear weapons are nothing but “reckless” and “destabilising”.

Mr Birmingham said it is also the types of actions which the world “ought to roundly condemn”.

“President Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine ought to cease,” he said during a media conference on Thursday.

“The world must continue to apply maximum pressure to President Putin to ensure that he does withdraw troops and respects the territorial sovereignty and boundaries of Ukraine.”
