Ex-prime minister Scott Morrison’s resolution to secretly appoint himself to a number of ministries was “corrosive” to the general public’s belief in authorities, an inquiry has discovered.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese launched the inquiry’s report on Friday afternoon, the identical day he stated he obtained it.

“The unprecedented and inexcusable actions of the previous prime minister have been emblematic of the tradition of secrecy by which the earlier authorities operated,” he advised reporters.
